Distinguished Engineer, Security Operations

The position offers an opportunity to select your preferred working location from Sunnyvale, CA, USA; Ramat Gan, Israel; Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. As a candidate, you should have a minimum of 15 years of experience in building mission-critical products, including 5 years of serving as a technical leader for a software product developed by multiple teams. Leadership skills are essential for helping vet, hire, and retain a bench of TLs through collaboration with engineering leaders on the team. Domain experience with infrastructure security is preferred, along with a background in building enterprise products at scale and engaging with enterprise customers. You should have experience inspiring and motivating geographically distributed teams to work together effectively. Collaboration with engineering and cross-functional teams, particularly PM and TPM, across Cloud and relevant product areas is crucial for success in this role. Google Cloud's Security Operations team is dedicated to advancing cybersecurity for enterprises. The platform offers a range of products and services to help companies detect and stop cyber attacks. As a member of this team, you will work with Engineering and Product Directors to scale the platform, support more customers, and optimize operations for complex environments. Collaborating with various stakeholders and external partners is essential to create quality new detections and address evolving security challenges. Your responsibilities will include creating and evolving long-term strategies for security operations systems, driving innovation to position Google Security Operations as a leading platform, and building a strong team of TLs through hiring and mentoring in diverse domains. Balancing tactical trade-offs against long-term opportunities and risks while supporting product and engineering partners across the security operations portfolio is key to success in this role.
