Director Privacy

to lead and oversee our organization&aposs data protection strategy and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of global privacy regulations, including GDPR, Indias DPDP Act, CCPA, and other frameworks, and bring proven experience in implementing privacy programs across a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, execution, and maintenance of the organizations global privacy and data protection strategy.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure compliance with privacy laws such as GDPR, DPDP, CCPA, and other applicable frameworks.
• Design and implement policies, procedures, and frameworks related to data protection, privacy impact assessments, and data subject rights.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection authorities and internal stakeholders regarding privacy matters.
• Oversee incident response planning and management for data breaches or privacy violations.
• Provide expert guidance to business units, legal, and IT teams on privacy risks and controls.
• Conduct training and awareness programs to foster a culture of data protection across the organization.
• Lead audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses to evaluate compliance maturity and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to embed privacy by design and default into all operations and technologies.
  

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years in privacy, data protection, legal compliance, or a related field, preferably in a leadership role.
• CIPP/E, CIPP/US (Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe/US)
• CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager)
• CIPT (Certified Information Privacy Technologist)
• ISO/IEC 27701 Lead Implementer or equivalent (preferred)
• Strong understanding of global privacy regulations and frameworks.
• Proven ability to build and lead privacy governance frameworks and cross-functional teams.
• Experience in conducting DPIAs, vendor risk assessments, and managing DSAR processes.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
