Director, Network Security Engineering

As the Director of Network Security Engineering at Salesforce, you will lead a team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining innovative security services and solutions to meet the needs of both internal and external customers. You will play a crucial role in advancing network security within Salesforce's public cloud environment, covering aspects such as Micro-Segmentation, Zero-Trust, Network ACLs, L4/L7 Firewall, WAF, mTLS, monitoring, and automation. Your responsibilities will include managing a development team, hiring and retaining top security talent, and guiding the technical direction of the team towards engineering excellence. **Responsibilities:** - Hiring, retaining, and growing the best security talent, while guiding the technical direction of the team - Leading the development of distributed systems for network-level security controls in Salesforce's public cloud - Researching and implementing new networking security solutions for intra- and cross-cloud network flows - Operating security scanning platforms in a full DevOps model - Participating in Agile development practices and daily scrums - Supporting engineering excellence through code reviews and best software development practices - Collaborating with other teams and executives to develop security strategies **Required Skills:** - Industry experience of 17+ years, including specific experience in SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS software development - Management experience with direct people management for 10+ years - Expertise in Network Security Technologies such as Micro-Segmentation, Zero-Trust, Firewall, WAF, and mTLS solutions - In-depth knowledge of network security platforms, protocols, datacenter network architecture, and public cloud environments - Proficiency in programming languages like Golang, Java, C++, Python - Strong understanding of security fundamentals and DevOps mindset - Excellent communication and team collaboration skills **Desired Skills:** - Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies - Experience with SDN, NFV, and network automation - Exposure to Terraform and Helm chart In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the development of new services for large-scale cloud infrastructure, drive innovation in network security technologies, and contribute to the future of agile and social program management.
