About Digbi Health We are a team of doctors, software engineers, data scientists, genomic experts, clinicians, and proven business builders focused on empowering over 100 million individuals who struggle under the misguidance of one-size-fits-all chronic care programs, and the stigma of poor self-control while fighting obesity and weight-related inflammatory digestive disorders, skin condition, chronic pain, hypertension, elevated cholesterol & diabetes. Making an Impact: Digbi is a leading value-based, Precision Digital Care Platform for inflammatory insulin, musculoskeletal, gut, and skin comorbidities associated with gut and obesity. The risk of these illnesses varies significantly across ethnicity and gender because they are rooted in the interactions between a person’s gut microbiome, genetics, and lifestyle risk factors. We are the first company that has successfully integrated gut microbiome, genetic, blood, and lifestyle-based risk signals, and provides personalized care for a diverse workforce and their families. Our care programs are vetted and paid for by large insurance payers and employers. We are actively pursuing human trials with leading medical schools. Our programs demonstrably deliver superior health outcomes and financial savings to payers and employers. Our Core Values Caring - We’re a caring, innovative digital care company. We care for our members who have entrusted us with the care of their health; We care for each other in the Digbi family Accountable - We are responsible for building care systems that will bend the curve of healthcare cost in the US, while solving the root cause of illnesses vs. mask and manage symptoms. We act like an owner. So whenever you run into a problem, try to fix things first if you can't, give constructive, actionable feedback. We are a zero whining zone! Customers come first - Without customers, we won’t exist and we should always put them first. Build antifragility - We want everyone to take risks. We expect people to make mistakes and will support risk-taking as long as they are bound by being ethical and are intended to be in the best interest of shareholders and customers. We make things simple for everyone, products, experiences, and processes. About the role: As a Lead Full Stack Product Engineer at Digbi Health, you will design, develop, and drive the end-to-end architecture for both our core product systems and cutting-edge data/AI platform. You’ll be instrumental in shaping backend systems, designing unified health data models, and delivering scalable infrastructure that powers real-time AI agents and personalized healthcare features. This is a rare opportunity to lead at the intersection of full-stack engineering, data/LLM architecture, and health tech compliance. Key Responsibilities: Product & System Architecture Architect scalable, resilient full-stack systems with a focus on simplicity and user impact. Drive monolith-to-microservices transitions and manage event-driven and service-oriented designs. Collaborate across engineering, product, security, and design to align architecture with business needs. Communicate trade-offs and architectural decisions clearly to product and leadership teams. Data Platform Engineering Design a unified health-data model integrating CGM, EMR, genetic, microbiome, and wearable data streams. Build high-throughput GraphQL/REST/Async APIs and TypeScript/Python SDKs with <200 ms p99 latency. Architect hybrid OLTP/OLAP storage systems using Postgres, DuckDB, S3-Iceberg, and Kafka streams. Security & Compliance Implement encryption-at-rest/in-transit, data lineage, audit logging, and vulnerability scans. Ensure HIPAA, SOC 2, and/or HITRUST compliance in collaboration with Security teams. Define and enforce data contracts, schema validation gates, and PHI classification workflows. Code Quality & Mentorship Lead architecture reviews, ensure adherence to design patterns, and test coverage. Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional technical initiatives. APIs & Integration Build and maintain public/internal APIs, including secure external tool-calling gateways (e.g., for diagnostics, meal delivery). Ensure typed, versioned API interfaces at scale. Business-Aligned Technical Leadership Prioritize tech initiatives based on product goals (e.g., faster onboarding, reduced churn, payer compliance). Work with business owners and care teams to assess the technical feasibility of new features. Balance infrastructure and feature work to support business KPIs. What You Bring: 4-5 years building full-stack and data platforms in high-growth/start-up settings. Strong hands-on experience with Java (5+ years), React/ React Native (+2 years). 1+ years at the staff/principal level with proven architectural leadership. You care just as much about why a feature exists as how it’s built—connecting technical work to real user and business value. Strong product intuition—comfortable working backwards from goals and aligning with cross-functional teams. Passion for AI-driven innovation and product-led engineering. Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), distributed systems, and streaming infrastructure. Able to make smart architecture decisions even with incomplete information. Bonus: Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, wearable data, or vector-based retrieval systems. Who You Are: You’re a hands-on leader who understands both technology and product needs. You care about why a feature exists as much as how it’s built. You can sketch architectures on Friday and ship a proof-of-concept by Monday. You handle ambiguity, respect regulatory constraints, and have a bias toward shipping systems that improve lives.
