Dietary Aide (Part time)

As a Dietary Aide at our Residence/Home, you will report to the Director of Culinary Services/the Dietary Manager and play a vital role in supporting meal services. Your responsibilities will include serving meals to residents and guests professionally, assisting in the setup and preparation of various food items, setting and clearing dining tables, cleaning dishware, maintaining kitchen and dining area cleanliness, assisting with catering and special events, training new dietary employees, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, provincial laws, and departmental policies, respecting Resident Rights & Responsibilities, attending training sessions and staff meetings, participating in the Quality Improvement Program, working with vulnerable adults, upholding the organization's values and philosophy, and completing assigned duties with dedication. To qualify for this position, you must have a Food Handler's Certificate, preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors, must possess or be enrolled in a Food Service Worker Training Program, demonstrate excellent customer service skills, be physically capable of lifting heavy items and standing/walking for extended periods, proficiency in a second language is an asset, and provide a recent Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
