About Dhun School Dhun School is an experiential learning environment in the heart of a 500-acre bioreserve at Dhun in the Jaipur district. Our educational model champions self-direction and collective wisdom across three interconnected pillars: Self, Community, and Planet. Role Purpose Lead language and arts integrated learning for ages 4–10. Establish a strong daily culture of learning with clear routines, reflection, and joyful rigor. Design contextual, place-based learning that bridges Self, Community, and Planet. Interface with a partner organization to translate select practices; Build team capacity and co-create Dhun School’s evolving model. Key Responsibilities Learning Design and Facilitation (Primary Focus) Plan and deliver daily/weekly learning with co-educators; use visible thinking routines and learning walls. Lead integrated Language & Arts blocks developing foundational literacy, oracy, and expression through storytelling, theatre/play, visual arts, poetry, and music. Use place-based provocations (ecology, local crafts, village stories) to design inquiry cycles and projects. Set up predictable micro-routines: morning meetings, read-alouds, studio time, reflection journals, closing circles. Research, Documentation, and Assessment Observe like a researcher; document patterns and interests to iterate curriculum. Build learner portfolios capturing cognitive, physical, social-emotional growth and artistic expression. Implement holistic assessment (formative checks, rubrics, portfolios, learning stories) Guide learners in self- and peer-assessment to cultivate agency and metacognition. Culture and Team Collaboration Model curiosity, care, and productive independence; create environments for focus, choice, and collaboration. Facilitate weekly class/community circles for belonging and restorative conflict resolution. Share exemplars and micro-PDs with co-educators on literacy-rich environments and arts integration. Partnership Touchpoint (Small Component) Attend scheduled check-ins with the partner organization to understand key frameworks and tools. Contextualize select partner practices into our plans and routines; keep brief notes on what’s adopted. Bring back learnings to a weekly learning meeting to align next steps. Desired Background 3–5 years teaching ages 4–10 with strong early literacy (English) and arts-integration practice. Preferred exposure: Forest School, Montessori, Democratic Schooling, or inquiry/play-based frameworks. Bilingual proficiency in English and Hindi; comfort weaving in local languages and cultural forms. Values alignment: respect for local community and ecology; creativity, openness, and entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in hands-on, evolving settings.
