About the Organization: Dhai Akshar Educational Trust is an after-school centre that provides creative and joyful learning experiences for children from underprivileged communities. Our NGO offers a nurturing environment where kids learn and grow through play. Role Overview: The Assistant Teacher will work with the pre-primary and primary sections (ages 3-10) and support the lead educators in creating engaging modules and activities across subject. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys blending creativity with education and has a genuine passion for working with young children. Key Responsibilities: - Design and conduct fun, activity-based lessons for pre-primary and primary children (ages 3-10). Subjects: English, maths, science, general knowledge, art, craft, dance. - Support daily classroom operations and individual learning needs. - Encourage creativity, curiosity, and teamwork among students. - Collaborate with lead teachers to plan lessons and prepare materials. - Maintain a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. - Support teachers and centre with planning events & outings as necessary. Qualifications & Skills: - Prior experience (at least 2 years) teaching or facilitating children’s activities (formal or informal). - D. Ed/B.Ed. preferred. - Strong communication and classroom management skills. - Experience with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Workspace required ; social media & video editing experience is an asset. - Creative thinker with the ability to simplify complex topics. - Energetic, patient, and passionate about child development. - Fluency in English and Hindi (required) ; Marathi preferred.
