As a Software Release Manager at Ford's Product Development Platform Operations team, your role will involve overseeing and coordinating the release lifecycle of software products across multiple repositories. Your responsibilities will include: - Planning, coordinating, and executing software releases across multiple repositories & development teams - Developing & maintaining release schedules, timelines, and milestone tracking in Jira - Coordinating with development, QA, DevOps, and product teams to ensure release readiness - Facilitating release planning meetings and go/no-go decision processes - Serving as the primary point of contact for release status, changes, due dates, & escalations - Managing release communications to stakeholders and end users - Managing expectations with product owners, engineering leadership, and business stakeholders - Coordinating hotfix and emergency release procedures - Leading incident response for release-related issues and rollbacks - Performing risk assessments for high-impact releases In addition to the key responsibilities mentioned above, you will also be involved in: - Establishing and enforcing standardized release processes and procedures - Creating and maintaining release documentation, runbooks, and best practices - Continuously improving release processes to increase efficiency and reduce risk - Implementing and monitoring release metrics and KPIs - Conducting post-release retrospectives and implementing lessons learned - Implementing and enforcing semantic versioning strategies across all repositories - Managing branching strategies and ensuring proper Git workflow adherence - Overseeing code promotion through development, staging, and production environments - Maintaining repository organization and access controls - Ensuring consistent tagging conventions and immutable release artifact storage - Maintaining traceability between releases, code commits, and deployment artifacts - Utilizing Jira for release planning, tracking, and reporting - Creating and maintaining release dashboards and status reports - Tracking release progress, blockers, and dependencies - Managing release-related tickets and ensuring proper workflow states - Generating release metrics and reports for leadership If you are an experienced Release Manager with expertise in Release Engineering and Release Management, and skills in GitHub, CI/CD, and GCP, holding a Bachelor's or Master's Degree with at least 7+ years of relevant experience, this role at Ford offers you the opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
