Devops Engineer(Azure DevOps)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly experienced DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in Azure DevOps to join our engineering team. This role will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines in a fast-paced, Agile environment. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer with a passion for automation, scalable architecture, and continuous delivery using Microsoft Azure services.

Other responsibilities include assisting with complex operational and support concerns, ensuring alignment with development best practices and Agile/Scrum methodologies. The position requires a hands-on approach to resolving critical system issues, helping the team enhance their understanding of processes and software system challenges, and setting or adjusting team norms and SLAs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (ADO) for build, test, and deployment automation across multiple environments.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep for managing Azure resources.
• Administer and optimize Azure cloud services including App Services, Function Apps, AKS, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Storage, and Networking.
• Ensure secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure and deployments.
• Implement robust monitoring and logging solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, or third-party tools.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and product teams to ensure DevOps practices are integrated into the software lifecycle.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and system recovery processes.
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers and promote DevOps culture, standards, and best practices across teams.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and participate in code and design reviews.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in both development and production environments.
• Contribute to improving team efficiency, development processes, and overall software quality.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLSET QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, with a strong focus on Azure and Azure DevOps.
• Deep expertise in Azure DevOps Pipelines (YAML), Repos, Artifacts, and Release Management.
• Proficient in Azure infrastructure management, with solid experience across core services and governance.
• Strong experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Hands-on experience with PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting for automation.
• Containerization experience with Docker and orchestration via Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or similar.
• Knowledge of source control systems (e.g., Git), branching strategies, and code quality practices.
• Experience with Azure security, RBAC, policies, and identity management (Azure AD).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or Azure Solutions Architect.
• Experience with hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible or Chef.
• Exposure to security scanning, compliance checks, and DevSecOps practices.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and service mesh technologies.
