Development Engineer - API & Integrations

As a Backend Engineer (Engineering- Integration) at our leading BFSI client, you will play a crucial role in the development of the next-gen WealthTech platform. Your primary responsibility will be designing and maintaining the layer that facilitates seamless integrations between our core wealth management system and external platforms. In this hands-on role, you will utilize your expertise in APIs and middleware to ensure reliable, secure, and scalable system-to-system communication. You will work with cutting-edge technologies such as Node.js, Kong API Gateway, and Kafka/RabbitMQ to enable efficient data exchange and processing flows. Your key responsibilities will include designing, building, and maintaining middleware services for managing data exchange, developing REST APIs and asynchronous processing flows with Node.js, configuring Kong API Gateway for routing and authentication, handling data transformation and orchestration, and implementing middleware-focused design patterns for effective integration. To excel in this role, you should have a minimum of 3-6 years of backend or integration development experience, preferably in fintech, SaaS, or wealthtech domains. You must possess strong hands-on experience with Node.js, solid knowledge of Kong API Gateway, and familiarity with various integration methods such as REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, message queues, and SFTP. Experience with financial data formats like FIX, OFX, JSON, and XML, as well as familiarity with async tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, and SQS, will be advantageous. Moreover, a deep understanding of API/middleware security best practices, including securing endpoints using OAuth2, JWT, API keys, and rate limiting, is essential. Your ability to write testable, maintainable code with robust logging and monitoring capabilities will be critical in ensuring the reliability and performance of the integrations you develop.,
