Basic Qualifications • Structural Engineer with 7+ years of experience in designing structures per ASCE, ACI, and AISC building codes. • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or master’s degree in Structural Engineering. • A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project is essential. • Basic Experience in Revit drafting and modeling for building structures. • Should have working experience in handling projects in high seismic zones along the US West coast. • Understanding of ductility principles and seismic design of structures, including performance-based design. • Ability to develop spreadsheets and Automate day-to-day tasks. • Experience in analysis and design of mid to high-rise building structures. Preferred Qualifications • Master of Science in Civil Engineering obtained from a University in the United States. • Experience of working with a US company in the United States preferred. • The candidate has obtained a Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state in the US or equivalent. Technical Skills • Proficiency in technical structural software such as RAM SS, RAM Concept, ETABS, SAP2000, and RISA is a must. • A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project is essential. • Proficient in Reinforced Concrete, Steel, Post Tensioning, Tilt-up construction. • Candidates should understand ductility principles for seismic design. • Ability to develop spreadsheets and Automate day-to-day tasks. • Experience in analysis and design of mid to high-rise building structures. • Nonlinear Static and Nonlinear Dynamic analysis of structures using PERFORM-3D is a plus. • Experience with programming and tools development with Python and VBA is a plus. Responsibilities • Design Ownership & Delivery: Execute assigned structural design tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring work is delivered within allocated hours, with an appropriate level of detail, and in accordance with project deadlines. Maintain clear communication with the project lead regarding design progress and rationale behind design decisions. • Quality Assurance & Documentation Control: Adhere strictly to internal QA/QC processes and document control protocols. Ensure all drawings, reports, calculations, and correspondence are prepared, reviewed, issued, and archived systematically and professionally. • Code-Compliant Technical Design: Carry out detailed structural design and analysis in line with client requirements and the latest applicable codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, ASCE). Demonstrate a strong understanding of structural systems, constructability, and interdisciplinary coordination. • Technical Calculations & Supervision: Organize and perform structural calculations using industry standards and tools. Supervise and support junior team members in delivering delegated tasks, ensuring quality, timeliness, and compliance with project requirements. • Coordination & Communication: Manage day-to-day technical coordination within the design team and external consultants. Ensure timely availability of design data and documentation needed to meet client and project expectations. • Software Proficiency & Modeling: Utilize appropriate software tools for modeling, drafting, and structural analysis (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, RAM, RISA, Revit). Perform both automated and manual design checks as part of the design validation process. • Mentorship & Team Development: Provide guidance to junior engineers, fostering a learning-oriented environment. Assist in organizing training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives to support continuous professional development within the team.
