Design Manager

Role & responsibilities

1. Design Delivery:

   Timely completion of concept designs, detailed drawings, and construction issue packages.

2. Design Accuracy:

   Reduction in errors, omissions, and inconsistencies in architectural and landscape documentation.

3. Consultant Coordination:

   Timely resolution of design clashes, RFIs, and interdisciplinary coordination issues.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

   Completeness and accuracy of design submissions and incorporation of approval conditions.

5. Cost Optimisation:

   Verified cost efficiencies achieved through design optimisation and value engineering.

6. Construction Support:

   Timeliness of technical clarifications and resolution of design-related site issues.

7. Landscape Quality:

   Effective integration of functional, aesthetic, climate-appropriate, and maintainable landscape solutions.

8. Drawing Revision Control:

   Accuracy of document management and circulation of approved drawings.

9. Design Quality:

   Compliance with project briefs, approved specifications, and company design standards.

10. Construction Rework Prevention:

    Reduction in avoidable rework attributable to design omissions or coordination failures.

11. Sustainability and Efficiency:

    Implementation of practical measures that improve environmental performance and lifecycle value.

12. Team Performance:

    Effective management of internal design personnel and external consultants.

13. Stakeholder Satisfaction:

    Quality of coordination with management, sales, engineering, procurement, and project execution teams.

14. Design-to-Budget Alignment:

    Consistency between approved design intent, quantity estimates, procurement feasibility, and project budgets.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a recognised institution.
• Registration with the Council of Architecture, where required for the professional responsibilities undertaken.
• Relevant experience in architectural design management, real estate development, or multidisciplinary building design.
• Demonstrated experience in villa developments, residential high-rise buildings, commercial buildings, or mixed-use projects.
• Practical experience in landscape design coordination, master planning, site development, and outdoor amenities.
• Strong understanding of architectural drawings, construction detailing, material specifications, and consultant coordination.
• Knowledge of applicable building regulations, development control requirements, accessibility provisions, and fire and life safety coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant architectural visualisation or design software.
• Knowledge of Revit, BIM coordination, SketchUp, 3D visualisation, and rendering tools will be an added advantage.
• Strong communication, presentation, leadership, design review, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver design packages within strict timelines.
• Understanding of quantity estimation, value engineering, construction costs, and material procurement is preferred.
