Job Title- General Manager / Design Head Design and Engineering Qualification- BE / BTech / (Mech) Exp- 15+ Years Key responsibilities Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation engineering Engineering, scheduling & resource planning Basic & detailed engineering Engineering of bought out Auxiliary equipment Piping & Steel structure Engineering Coordination, with consultants, customers and other stake holders Support to EPC, Manufacturing, Construction and commissioning functions Value Engineering, Standardisation and cost optimisation Engineering support for originations ISO, ASME and quality certifications Proposal Development Drive the pre-bid evaluation to understand the scope of work involved. Undertake any pre-bid engineering required for validation of basic engineering & developing accurate quantification of the scope Co-ordinate with engineering & estimation teams within the organisation as well as external specialists, if required, to ensure high level of accuracy in the BD team's understanding of the scope. identify & highlight technical risks in the project on the basis of tender documents, basic engineering package, site visits (if required). Engineering for EPC Projects: Drive the engineering for all projects across the organisation, through the engineering co-ordinators designated for each project. Identify & implement value engineering initiatives during the detailed engineering stage. Ensure timely execution of engineering activities as per project timelines. Co-ordinate with and efficiently manage client expectations for each project. Co-ordinate with external stakeholders, especially engineering specialists & agencies if any, for timely completion of deliverables & tasks as planned. Co-ordinate with internal stakeholders including the procurement & construction teams to ensure consistent understanding throughout the project team of the technical requirements for different scope of work. Manage all engineering documentation required throughout the project lifecycle. Technical head for Services & Equipment Supply contracts Manage the technical requirements of service contracts such as O&M of equipment and pipelines, compressor packaging, skid mounted systems & equipment etc. Drive the design & engineering requirements for such contracts & co-ordinate with the product development & services teams. Support the execution teams on any technical challenges in this respect by effective problem-solving approach. Aid in the design & development of equipment & systems, & redesign of existing systems Review and verification of equipment suppliers engineering, the testing and commissioning of equipment Assist with specification and selection of suitable rotating machinery, plus testing and commissioning of suitable equipment Preparation of Equipment Technical Specifications, such as Specification and Mechanical Data Sheets, for enquiry Preparation of Equipment Technical Specifications for order and estimates for engineering and design manhours Review of Process Data Sheets and Supplier documentation for integration within Project design, such as GA / Details / Calculations / Fabrication Procedures People Management Provide leadership to departments under control and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions Ensure strong communication between teams under leadership to facilitate exchange of information and in order to implement change and improvements Responsible for developing the appropriate organisational structure, resource plans and culture to support the business objectives and customer deliverables Provide leadership, coordination and coaching to the team, ensuring they are trained enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles Relationship Management Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance Work with the rest of the leadership team to decide which engineering projects are the highest priority against the business targets and which can be executed with the available resource Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the engineering strategy Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market and technology change and potential effects on engineering. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimising cost Liaise and coordinate with clients, members of the engineering team and contractors on technical and commercial issues with regulatory expectations and that the top priority business projects are executed Any other Responsibilities as given by the Management
