Design Group Manager

As the Group Design Manager at our company based in Chennai, Tamilnadu, you will play a crucial role in leading our product design team towards creating innovative and user-centered designs for digital experiences and products, particularly focusing on mobile UI/UX design. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the design, development, and improvement of our product lines, ensuring they are not only visually appealing but also functional and cater to the needs of our target audience. Your key responsibilities will include guiding and motivating a creative team, setting an example through your leadership, and possessing strong communication skills to effectively engage with business partners on a daily basis. You will be expected to transform ideas and solutions into comprehensive user flows that address various use cases and scenarios, translating them into screens that are not only intuitive and consistent but also capable of delighting users. Additionally, you will manage a team of UX designers, mentor junior team members, oversee multiple creative projects, collaborate closely with fellow designers and developers to create prototypes, and provide support for usability testing. It will be essential for you to advocate for the user, base your ideas on industry best practices and usability research, and integrate customer insights into the creative process. Being a creative expert, you will uphold design best practices, maintain brand consistency, and ensure high-quality design standards across all projects. We expect you to have a deep understanding of digital graphic design, typography, and interface design, along with expertise in tools like Figma, Sketch, and XD for creating captivating micro-interactions. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with Product, Engineering, Business, and CX teams to align everyone with the design vision. Your experience in shipping successful products will be valuable, as you should be able to analyze both successful and unsuccessful outcomes and provide insights to avoid potential pitfalls.
