Design Engineer

You will be responsible for designing and developing high-precision molds for plastic injection molding, ensuring adherence to customer specifications and industry standards. This includes generating/computer 3D design and 2D detailed prints of injection molds & fixtures and preparing layouts and concepts for supporting estimation activities. You will review and prepare necessary documents/presentations for DFM and coordinate with customers & tool shops to meet required specifications for mold builds. Analyzing part drawings to understand the feasibility of maintaining dimensions while molding is also an important aspect of your role. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinating with the toolroom, Engineering, Molding & quality department to ensure and prove the mold design/built - Preparing RFQ for Mold base and other standard elements - Designing electrodes and creating drawings for machining - Reviewing mold designs with the tooling team and implementing necessary revisions - Ensuring that mold designs meet safety, quality, and cost parameters while adhering to project timelines - Supporting root cause analysis and troubleshooting for any molding defects or issues in the production process - Collaborating with customers/suppliers to select appropriate materials and components for mold fabrication - Managing multiple projects and working effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment - Reporting daily/monthly utilization reports of the job - Maintaining relevant documents up to date for audits Qualifications Required: - Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Preferably Solidworks), AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Tools & Moldflow Analysis - Knowledge of various injection molding processes (2 plate, 3 plate, Hot runner, Hot sprue, insert molding, overmolding, unscrew mold, vertical molding, etc.) - Understanding of part geometry, Moldability, Capability Studies & Tolerance analysis - Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASTM) and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) - Strong understanding of material properties, mold construction, tooling, and machining processes No additional details of the company are provided in the job description.,
