Design Engineer (Mechanical)

You are a Design Engineer with a specialization in SolidWorks and a background in mechanical engineering, seeking to join Pneumatic Power Tools & Company Private Limited in Kolkata, West Bengal. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop hydraulic and pneumatic systems and tools using SolidWorks. You will conduct mechanical analysis, including stress, strain, and fatigue analysis, through Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to optimize product performance. Collaborating with manufacturing teams is crucial to ensure that designs are cost-effective, manufacturable, and compliant with industry standards. Your role will involve developing and maintaining technical drawings, 3D models, and BOMs with precision and adherence to design standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and R&D, is essential to enhance existing product designs and create innovative solutions. You will be responsible for prototyping, testing, and validating new designs to ensure their performance and durability. Moreover, applying DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles will be crucial in optimizing product design. To excel in this role, you must hold a Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience in hydraulic and pneumatic product design and development is required. Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, drafting, and simulation is essential. You should also possess a strong understanding of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for product optimization and manufacturing processes like machining, casting, welding, and injection molding. In addition, a good grasp of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and industry standards is necessary. Your ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, on-site environment, coupled with strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail, will be highly valued.
