Job Description: Brake Product Designer
Experience Required: 5+ YearsLocation: Pune, MaharashtraDepartment: Product Design / R&D / EngineeringReports To: Engineering HeadJob Summary:We are seeking a skilled and innovative Brake Product Designer with 5 years of experience in designing and developing braking systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, CAD modeling, and product development processes, with a focus on performance, safety, and manufacturability.Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop brake components and systems (e.g., disc brakes, drum brakes, calipers, pads, rotors) from concept to production.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance.
• Conduct design reviews, FMEA, and DVP&R to ensure product reliability and safety.
• Analyze and validate designs through simulations (FEA, thermal analysis) and physical testing.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, SAE, FMVSS).
• Support prototype development and testing, and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
• Optimize designs for cost, weight, performance, and manufacturability.
• Maintain design documentation and support change management processes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in brake system design and development.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, etc.).
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and surface treatments relevant to braking systems.
• Experience with simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, etc.) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and braking performance.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in automotive or heavy vehicle industry.
• Familiarity with electric and regenerative braking systems.
• Exposure to APQP, PPAP, and other product development methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with prototype testing and validation.
