Design and DTECH Teacher

As a Middle School Technology Teacher, you will work collaboratively with other middle school teachers to plan technology-based projects and cross-curricular units. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with the Head of Middle School and the Director of Technology to refine and implement the Design Technology strategic planning. You will lead and inspire staff to integrate technology into their lessons, demonstrating clear and comprehensive computer knowledge and skills. It is essential to keep up to date with the latest developments for use in teaching and learning. Key Responsibilities: - Ensure the safe use of the Design room during lessons. - Work with EBI staff and pupils in the middle school to introduce and develop concepts, processes, and skills related to the MYP Design Technology programme. - Introduce and develop concepts, processes, and skills related to Information and Communication technology to staff and pupils. - Support staff in their planning and use of hardware and software. - Develop and run school clubs that make effective use of the range of hardware and software available to the school. - Collaborate closely with the school's IT administrator and the school's director of student technology. Additionally, as a General Bloomingdale Teacher, you will have the following responsibilities: - Plan and prepare for learning by knowing the subject matter well and incorporating International Baccalaureate pedagogy. - Implement effective classroom management strategies to foster positive interactions and maximize academic learning time. - Deliver instructions that activate students" prior knowledge, use clear explanations, and differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning needs. - Monitor student progress through assessments, provide clear criteria for proficiency, and offer support to students who are not succeeding. - Reflect on teaching effectiveness and continuously strive to improve teaching and learning methods.,
