It also assists EU businesses, advocates for fair and transparent trade practices and contributes to the development of bilateral and regional trade cooperation. Its main activities include identifying, implementing and monitoring programmes and projects in key sectors such as governance, economic development, environment, climate, education and social inclusion, in line with EU priorities and Egypt's national strategies. The Section also coordinates with Egyptian authorities, EU Members States and international partners to ensure effective delivery and impact of EU-Funded cooperation. The Office also plays a role in engaging with the network of digital contact points among EU Member States, providing insights about new trends and supporting a common knowledge base. The Office works closely with the 13 Consulates General of the EU Member States in San Francisco and with their network of business and tech industry leaders including start-ups, local (SF, Silicon Valley) and state (Sacramento) policy makers, relevant third countries, civil society, academia (including EU centres) and think tanks.
