A leading multidisciplinary university is seeking a visionary academic leader to join as Dean – School of Biotechnology. The ideal candidate will bring a proven record of academic excellence, global exposure, and strategic leadership to elevate the School to international prominence.

Position: Dean – School of Biotechnology

Experience: 20+ years in academia and research, including minimum 10 years as a Professor

Qualification: Ph.D. in Biotechnology / Life Sciences / Biomedical Sciences or closely related fields

Global Exposure: Foreign degree (Master's/Ph.D.) or significant international research/teaching experience is mandatory

Key Responsibilities:

Academic & Strategic Leadership

• Drive the vision, strategy, and growth of the School of Biotechnology
• Foster a research-driven and globally competitive academic environment

Research & Innovation

• Champion cutting-edge research in genomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, biopharma, and related areas
• Build and mentor high-performing research teams and secure national/international funding
• Promote interdisciplinary collaborations and innovation culture

Industry & International Linkages

• Establish strong partnerships with global universities, research institutions, and biotech industries
• Facilitate joint research programs, academic collaborations, and international mobility of students and faculty

Curriculum & Program Development

• Lead curriculum design in alignment with NEP 2020 and global biotech trends
• Ensure excellence in teaching, learning outcomes, and academic delivery
• Oversee quality assurance, accreditation processes (NAAC/NBA), and regulatory compliance

Faculty & Student Development

• Mentor faculty for academic growth, research output, and professional development
• Create a learner-centric ecosystem that fosters innovation, critical thinking, and industry readiness

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Demonstrated leadership in academic administration (as Dean, HoD, or Director preferred)
• Strong publication and patent record with substantial research funding history
• Deep understanding of national and global trends in biotechnology education and R&D
• Experience in setting up labs, launching new academic programs, and driving institutional rankings
