Description
You will be responsible for designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining PostgreSQL and REDIS database systems. While it is beneficial to have skills in MongoDB and/or MySQL, it is not mandatory. Your duties will include regular performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization of databases to ensure efficient and reliable operation. You will also be tasked with managing database backups, disaster recovery processes, and high availability solutions. Collaboration with development teams to optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database schema designs is essential. Identifying and resolving database performance issues, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies will be part of your responsibilities. You will enforce security best practices and access controls to protect data integrity and confidentiality. Additionally, you will conduct database capacity planning and provide recommendations for hardware and infrastructure upgrades. Timely troubleshooting and resolution of database-related incidents and errors are crucial. Documentation maintenance, including database standards, procedures, and operational guidelines, is required. Staying updated with the latest advancements and best practices in PostgreSQL and REDIS technologies is essential. To qualify for this position, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Proven work experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in PostgreSQL and REDIS is mandatory. While skills in MongoDB and SQL Server are beneficial, they are not mandatory. Proficiency in SQL and experience with database query optimization are necessary. You should possess a deep understanding of PostgreSQL and REDIS server architectures, features, and administration tools. Familiarity with database backup and recovery mechanisms, high availability solutions, and disaster recovery planning is expected. Experience with database security practices and implementing access controls is required. Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems and command-line tools is essential. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary to diagnose and resolve complex database issues. Effective communication and collaboration skills are vital for working efficiently with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms such as AWS RDS and Azure Database Services is advantageous. Nice-to-have skills for this role include certification in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and/or SQL Server administration, experience with other database technologies like MySQL, Oracle, or Redis, knowledge of database automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, understanding of database performance monitoring and profiling tools like pg_stat_statements, MongoDB Profiler, and SQL Server Profiler, as well as experience with database migration, replication, and data synchronization techniques.,
