Database Engineer- Aurora and Mysql

As a Database Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in the operations team of the Software Development function. Your primary responsibility will be to provide day-to-day operational support to the live production system running on Aurora on the AWS Cloud infrastructure. You will work on optimizing tables, providing architectural guidance to teams in the field of data, and managing the quality of database work across the product. Key Responsibilities: - Optimize tables and provide architectural guidance to teams - Manage the quality of database work across the product - Ensure the upkeep and ongoing maintenance of database systems across various environments - Support team use cases in building low latency data and database solutions - Develop database tooling and code for integrations and experiences on the platform - Write robust functions, procedures, and scripts using SQL - Assist in continuous improvement and maintenance of Datawarehouse and Database systems Qualifications Required: - BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience - 7+ years of software development and design experience - Experience with Cloud managed DBs like Aurora and deep knowledge of MySQL - Extensive commercial database development experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL - Experience with development and deployment on AWS cloud infrastructure - Experience with distributed systems and event orchestration - Strong performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with independent deadlines - Self-motivated with the ability to work well in a team or individually - Clear, concise, and effective verbal and written communication skills This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work effectively in a team environment and independently.
