The Opportunity:

SQL Server DBA

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server instances.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Always On).
• Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, improvement opportunities, and proactively tune queries and configurations.
• Apply patches and updates with minimal disruption.
• Deploy SQL scripts to multiple databases using 3rdparty or custom tools.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues, collaborating with development teams.
• Automate routine tasks using scripts.
• Refresh non-production environments from production backups.
• Enforce database security and compliance policies.
• Design and implement backup and restore strategies/policies.
• Plan and execute database migrations (hardware, software, cloud) ensuring data consistency and integrity.
• Develop and maintain documentation for procedures, diagrams and technical specifications, to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance.
• Perform daily and operational database tasks.
• Be available for on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• High intermediate to advanced English level.
• Expertise in SQL Server installation, configuration, security, patching and updates.
• Proficiency in backup, restore, recovery, and maintenance tasks.
• Strong skills in query tuning and indexing (with T-SQL).
• Experience with Always On High Availability solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and on-call support.
• Ideal experience with AWS, including database migration and Aurora MySQL.
• Ideal PowerShell scripting experience for task automation.
• Ideal familiarity with SSIS and SSRS.
• Ideal working knowledge of New Relic and SQL Sentry.
