Your responsibilities will include:

• Install, configure, and maintain database management systems.
• Monitor database availability, performance, and resource utilization.
• Create and manage database schemas, tables, indexes, and relationships.
• Write and optimize SQL queries and database operations.
• Perform database backups and assist with recovery procedures.
• Manage database users, roles, and access permissions.
• Implement database security and data protection practices.
• Identify and troubleshoot database errors and performance issues.
• Monitor database storage and capacity requirements.
• Support database migrations and schema updates.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and reliability.
• Assist with database replication and high-availability configurations.
• Collaborate with developers on database design and optimization.
• Maintain database documentation and configuration records.
• Implement routine database maintenance procedures.
• Support disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Explore database automation and monitoring tools.

This is a hands-on database administration role where you will work with real database systems, improve reliability, troubleshoot performance issues, and develop practical database management skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience in database administration or relevant projects.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
• Proficiency in SQL and database queries.
• Familiarity with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB.
• Basic knowledge of database normalization and indexing.
• Understanding of backup and recovery procedures.
• Familiarity with database security and access control.
• Basic knowledge of database performance monitoring.
• Understanding of database migrations and schema management.
• Familiarity with Linux is a plus.
• Knowledge of MongoDB or cloud databases is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
