Data Scientist

Role description

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically sound AI Solutions Engineer with 3–4 years of experience in designing, building, and scaling intelligent systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Generative AI (GenAI), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and cloud-native applications — along with a solid understanding of the underlying mechanics, ethical considerations, and practical trade-offs of deploying these technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, prototype, and deploy AI/LLM-enabled applications using best practices in modularity, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop and fine-tune RAG pipelines for enterprise or product-based use cases, optimizing for retrieval quality and relevance.
• Work with unstructured data — including documents, transcripts, and APIs — and structure them into usable knowledge systems using embeddings ,vector stores and knowledge graphs.
• Evaluate and select GenAI tools, frameworks, and models appropriate to specific use cases, with attention to latency, cost, data sensitivity, and accuracy.
• Monitor system behavior and iterate on prompts, context engineering, and retrieval logic to improve response quality.
• Identify and communicate edge cases, risks, and failure modes, including hallucination, bias, prompt injection, and over-reliance on LLMs.
• Stay continuously updated on emerging AI research, tools, and techniques — and assess their applicability for production use.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and backend teams for seamless integration.
• Clearly document design choices, limitations, assumptions, and model behaviors.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3–4 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML, data engineering, or full-stack roles with strong exposure to intelligent system design.
• Solid understanding of how LLMs function — including embeddings, context windows, transformers, token limits, and memory strategies.
• Experience implementing RAG pipelines and working with vector databases and Knowledge Graphs.
• Practical knowledge of GenAI frameworks and orchestration tools (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.).
• Proficiency with programming languages such as Python, and experience working with APIs and backend logic.
• Awareness of AI safety, fairness, and security concerns — with a clear sense of where not to use GenAI in production.
• Ability to evaluate trade-offs between different approaches (cloud vs edge, fine-tuning vs prompting, open vs closed models, etc.).

Preferred (Nice to Have):

• Exposure to open-source models and tooling (e.g., Llama, Mistral, Claude, Mistral).
• Experience with model evaluation techniques, benchmarks, or human-in-the-loop feedback loops.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring in AI systems.
• Contributions to AI communities, publications, or personal projects in the space.
