Data Scientist Lead - Vice President

As a Data Scientist Lead - Vice President at Barclays, your role involves transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive strategic growth and innovation. By applying statistical modelling and machine learning techniques, you will support data-driven decision-making across the business. Key Responsibilities: - Identify, collect, and extract data from various sources, including internal and external sources. - Perform data cleaning, wrangling, and transformation to ensure data quality. - Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines for automated data acquisition and processing. - Design and conduct statistical and machine learning models to analyze patterns, trends, and relationships in the data. - Develop and implement predictive models to forecast future outcomes and identify potential risks and opportunities. - Collaborate with business stakeholders to add value from data through Data Science. Qualifications Required: - Proficiency in statistical analysis and modelling. - Ability to code in Python and contribute to codebases. - Experience querying large datasets using SQL or Pyspark. - Advanced knowledge of machine learning/AI algorithms and applications. - Understanding of banking products, risk frameworks, and regulations. - Ability to create compelling visual representations of complex data insights. In this role, you will use innovative data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract valuable insights from the bank's data reserves. These insights will inform strategic decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and drive innovation across the organization.
