Data Scientist / Analyst

As a Data Scientist / Analyst at Capgemini in Chennai, you will be responsible for modeling vessel behavior, analyzing fleet health, and supporting sustainability metrics through advanced analytics and machine learning. Working with large datasets and cloud-based tools, you will deliver predictive insights to enhance operational efficiency and achieve environmental goals. Your main responsibilities will include modeling vessel behavior and operational patterns, analyzing fleet health to identify trends and areas for improvement, developing predictive maintenance and anomaly detection models, and supporting sustainability initiatives by tracking relevant environmental metrics. You will utilize AWS services like SageMaker and Athena for scalable data processing and analysis, and write efficient data queries and scripts using Python, R, and SQL. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into analytical solutions will also be a key aspect of your role. To be successful in this position, you should have 4 to 10 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field. Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for data analysis and modeling is essential, along with experience in machine learning techniques including predictive maintenance and anomaly detection. Hands-on experience with AWS SageMaker and Athena, a strong understanding of sustainability metrics, excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders are also required.
