Data Science - Retail Demand Forecasting

Role Overview: At o9 Solutions, your mission will be to apply a variety of machine learning techniques to real-world advantages and drawbacks. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing models for demand sensing/forecasting, optimization, anomaly detection, simulation, and stochastic models. Additionally, you will use the latest advancements in AI/ML to solve business problems and work collaboratively with clients and project teams to ensure successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities: - Apply machine learning techniques such as clustering, regression, neural nets, time series, and optimizations - Develop and optimize models for demand sensing/forecasting, optimization, anomaly detection, and market intelligence - Analyze complex problems, evaluate alternate methods, and articulate results with relevant assumptions/reasons - Utilize common business metrics and generate new ones as needed - Develop or optimize modules to call web services for real-time integration with external systems - Collaborate with clients, project management, solution architects, consultants, and data engineers Qualifications Required: - Experience: 4+ years in time series forecasting using algorithms like exponential smoothing, ARIMA, prophet, and custom parameter tuning - Experience in applied analytical methods in supply chain and planning - Statistical background - Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or related field - Languages: Proficiency in Python and/or R for Data Science - Skills: Deep knowledge of statistical and machine learning algorithms, building scalable ML frameworks, feature engineering, tuning, and testing - Characteristics: Independent thinker with strong presentation and communication skills Additional Details: o9 Solutions is a rapidly growing technology company focused on digitally transforming planning and decision-making for enterprises and the planet.
