Data Engineer Web Data Scraping Intern

In this internship role with a full-time opportunity, you will be working as a Data Engineer specializing in Web Data Scraping at Stylumia, located in Bengaluru with some work-from-home flexibility. Your key responsibilities will include: - Developing and maintaining web scraping scripts using tools like Scrapy, BeautifulSoup, and Puppeteer/Playwright. - Working with SQL/NoSQL databases to store, process, and query data. - Optimizing scrapers for efficiency, reliability, and scale. - Ensuring data accuracy, validation, and cleaning. - Collaborating with engineering and data teams to integrate scraped data into downstream systems. - Exploring and implementing the latest scraping tools and techniques. To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications: - Strong programming skills in Python (Node.js is a plus). - Experience with Scrapy and other scraping frameworks. - Familiarity with SQL, Git, Redis, and Elasticsearch. - Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail. - Good communication and teamwork skills. - Currently pursuing or completed a degree in CS, Data Science, or related fields. Nice to have qualifications include: - Experience with distributed scraping and parallel processing. - Knowledge of Docker and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure). - Exposure to data preprocessing and visualization tools.
