Data Engineer, Customer Technology

As a Backend Software Engineer at Wayfair, you will be joining the Fulfillment Optimization team responsible for enhancing and scaling customer-facing platforms to optimize Wayfair profitability and customer satisfaction. Your role will involve maintaining an accurate representation of the dynamic supply chain, predicting how products fit into boxes, and surfacing information for customers and suppliers in real-time. Your responsibilities will include: - Building and launching data pipelines and products focused on SMART Org. - Collaborating with teams to create new product features and machine learning models using data insights. - Establishing cross-functional relationships to understand data requirements and standardize key metrics. - Leveraging modern technologies in software engineering, big data, streaming, and cloud infrastructure. Qualifications required for this role: - Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science or related field with 3+ years of experience in Data Engineering. - Proficiency in data modeling, ETL development, and data lake architecture. - Experience with Big Data Technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto, Airflow) and coding in modern languages like Python or Scala. - Strong track record in manipulating and extracting value from large datasets and working with cross-functional teams. - Business acumen and experience with GCP technologies or similar cloud platforms. - Effective communication skills and the ability to lead data warehousing and analytics projects.
