Data Administrator

As an IT Services Organization, your key responsibility will be managing SQL databases across various versions including SQL 2008R2, SQL 2012, SQL 2014, SQL 2016, SQL 2017, SQL 2019, and SQL 2022. You will be involved in tasks such as installation, configurations, upgrades, and migrations of SQL versions. Ensuring regular backup of databases and restoring them to different versions using TSQL and SQL tools will be part of your routine. Additionally, you will create and manage logins and users while maintaining their permissions in accordance with standard practices. To maintain high performance, you will optimize SQL queries, indexes, and stored procedures. Monitoring database growth, implementing appropriate monitoring and alerts, and ensuring data integrity through robust database design and normalization techniques will also fall under your purview. Your role will involve proactively identifying performance bottlenecks, optimizing queries, and database designs by analyzing and tuning SQL queries for better performance using various techniques including indexing and query execution plans. You are expected to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues such as blocking, deadlocks, and slow performance. Implementing data security policies, encryption, auditing, and user access management strategies to protect sensitive data and comply with regulatory requirements will be essential. Managing high availability solutions like Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and database replication will also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, setting up and managing automated alerts for critical database events, collaborating with developers and System Admins for implementing changes as per standard change processes on production servers will be crucial. Your educational background should include a Bachelor's Degree in a related field to excel in this role.,
