The ideal candidate for a Senior Executive Purchase in a die-casting toolroom is an experienced procurement professional with a strong technical background in tool manufacturing and the die-casting process. This role demands strategic sourcing, negotiation, and vendor management skills to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services specific to toolroom operations. Role description: Senior Executive Purchase (Die-Casting Toolroom) Key responsibilities: Strategic sourcing and procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies for die-casting tools, spare parts, and raw materials (e.g., steel, tool inserts) to optimize costs and quality. Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers and vendors for tool manufacturing and maintenance. Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and emerging technologies. Vendor and contract management: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with suppliers to secure the most favorable terms for the company. Maintain strong, long-term relationships with key vendors, conducting regular performance reviews and audits. Manage supplier contracts, renewals, and terminations as needed. Toolroom operations coordination: Collaborate with the toolroom and design teams to understand technical specifications, design changes, and project-based requirements for new and existing dies. Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to forecast demand and ensure the timely procurement of tools and spare parts to avoid production delays. Track purchase orders and delivery schedules, expediting urgent requirements and managing any delivery exceptions. Cost control and budget management: Analyze spending patterns and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality. Manage the procurement budget for the toolroom and report on cost-saving achievements to senior management. Compliance and quality assurance: Ensure all procured items meet quality standards and are compliant with technical specifications and company policies. Collaborate with the quality assurance team to resolve non-conformance issues with suppliers. Record-keeping and reporting: Maintain accurate procurement records, including vendor details, purchase orders, and payment terms. Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost analysis for management review. Qualifications and skills Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Production), Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Preferred : Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management. Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in a procurement or purchasing role within a manufacturing environment. Specific experience in a die-casting or tool manufacturing industry is essential. Technical skills: Toolroom knowledge: Strong understanding of die-casting tool construction, materials and manufacturing processes Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems. Analytical skills: Ability to conduct data analysis, cost analysis, and market research. Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
