We are currently partnering with one of the leading local ethnic wear business- an established vendor for FabIndia and Raymond for over 20 years as they take the next big step: evolving from being just a vendor to building their own direct-to-consumer (B2C) brand. Our focus is on fabric research, textile verification, modern design explorations, and developing print-ready solutions for women’s ethnic wear that seamlessly blends heritage with modernity . This is an exciting opportunity to work hands-on in shaping the future of ethnic fashion, bringing together traditional artistry and futuristic design sensibilities . Role: Fashion Design Intern As a Fashion Design Intern, you’ll be part of a creative team driving innovation in women’s ethnic wear. You will assist in conceptualizing, designing, and prototyping garments, ensuring that every piece reflects both cultural richness and modern appeal. Key Responsibilities Research & Conceptualization Study Indian heritage textiles, patterns, embroidery styles, and motifs (Banarasi, Mughal jaalis, Paisley, Temple art, etc.) and translate them into contemporary designs. Conduct fabric verification & quality research to identify the best materials for durability, comfort, and aesthetic appeal. Assist in trend forecasting, researching modern silhouettes and fusion design inspirations. Design & Development Create design sketches, moodboards, and fabric swatch presentations for collections. Support the creation of fusion wear concepts (modern lehengas, indo-contemporary kurtis, etc.). Develop print-ready artwork for textile printing and embroidery. Collaborate with the team to ensure designs align with brand ethos and market expectations. Production & Execution Support Work closely with vendors and printers to ensure accurate reproduction of designs. Assist in sampling & prototyping of garments. Document and maintain design specifications, size charts, and fabric details. Collaboration & Innovation Work alongside graphic designers and strategists to merge fashion with storytelling and branding. Contribute ideas for packaging, lookbooks, and marketing visuals to enhance product presentation. Participate in creative brainstorming sessions for seasonal campaigns and collections. Requirements Pursuing or completed degree/diploma in Fashion Design/Textile Design. Strong portfolio with 3–4 best works showcasing garment design, fabric exploration, or pattern development (Portfolio submission is mandatory). Knowledge of Indian textiles, embroidery, and contemporary fashion trends. Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or CLO3D (added advantage). Strong eye for detail, color theory, and cultural aesthetics. Ability to adapt traditional design inspirations into modern, wearable forms.
