Role Overview

We are looking for a Customer Engineer (Pre-Sales) with 5+ years of experience who combines strong technical understanding with excellent communication skills. In this role, you will partner with sales, product, and engineering teams to engage with customers, design technical solutions, and deliver proofs-of-concept that demonstrate the value of Condense.

This position requires strong aptitude, curiosity to learn new technologies, and openness to travel to customer sites for workshops, discovery sessions, and PoC deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the sales team during customer engagements to translate business requirements into technical solutions using Condense.

Conduct technical discovery, solution workshops, and hands-on demonstrations with prospects.

Design end-to-end architectures for real-time data streaming use cases from ingestion and transformation to integration with backend and analytics systems.

Lead proof-of-concepts (PoCs) that validate Condense's technical fit, performance, and value.

Prepare and deliver technical presentations, demos, and solution proposals tailored to customer needs.

Collaborate with product and engineering teams by sharing customer insights, feature requests, and improvement ideas.

Contribute to reusable demo assets, reference architectures, and best practice guides.

Ensure smooth handoff of validated opportunities to customer success and post-sales teams.

Travel as needed (within India and occasionally abroad) to meet customers, run workshops, and support PoCs.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in customer engineering, pre-sales, solution consulting, or related technical roles.

Strong understanding of real-time data streaming architectures, especially Apache Kafka.

Good working knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native concepts (containers, networking, scaling).

Familiarity with at least one public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and its streaming/data services.

Exposure to backend stacks (Java, Python, Go, or Node.js) to understand integration patterns.

Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders.

Hands-on aptitude: comfortable building simple PoCs, demos, or architecture prototypes.

Curiosity, quick learning ability, and eagerness to travel and interact directly with customers.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Knowledge of stream processing frameworks (Kafka Streams, Flink, Spark Streaming, Beam).

Understanding of schema management, data serialization formats (Avro, Protobuf, JSON Schema).

Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).

Experience with IoT, mobility, energy, or logistics domains.
