CSSD Technician

As a CSSD Technician at Apollo Hospitals Jabalpur, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the proper sterilization, decontamination, and supply of medical instruments used across the hospital. By performing cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and packaging of surgical instruments and medical equipment, you will play a crucial role in preventing infections and maintaining hospital hygiene standards. Operating and maintaining autoclaves, ETO sterilizers, plasma sterilization units, and ultrasonic cleaners will be part of your daily tasks. It is essential to adhere to NABH, NABL, and hospital infection control guidelines while conducting sterility tests and quality checks to uphold safety standards. Properly labeling, storing, and distributing sterilized instruments to operation theatres (OTs), ICUs, and wards is also a key aspect of the role. Maintaining CSSD records, sterilization logs, and inventory reports, as well as ensuring the safe handling and disposal of bio-medical waste, are critical responsibilities that you will handle. Assisting in training healthcare staff on sterilization protocols and reporting any malfunctions of sterilization equipment will be part of your duties. To qualify for this position, you should have a Diploma in CSSD Technology / Sterilization Technology / Hospital Infection Control and possess 0-10 years of experience in a hospital-based CSSD unit. Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, hospital infection control practices, and quality assurance protocols is required. Hands-on experience with CSSD equipment like autoclaves, ETO sterilizers, and steam sterilization units is essential, along with the ability to handle surgical instruments, medical supplies, and disposables safely. Familiarity with CSSD documentation, infection control policies, and NABH accreditation requirements is important, as well as having a strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
