Role & responsibilities Handling Haematology, Biochemistry & immunology, Cytopathology, Histopathology Planning & Implementing of internal quality control measures, external quality control measures & proficiency tests with the laboratory manager. By using microscopes and other testing tools pathologist analyse samples of blood, urine, tissue, and other bodily specimens and run tests. Responsible for the smooth functioning of respective sections by ensuring effective rostering of the laboratory staff Approving/Authentication of Patient reports Implement safe laboratory environment in compliance with good practice and applicable regulations To ensure implementation and monitoring of standards and performance and quality improvement Training technical staff about scientific validity and clinical significance of the tests offered in the section Daily review of reports, managing the workload and ensuring that they meet TAT. Interacting with customers (referring clinicians and patients) to discuss and clarify results of clinical reports, and also measure for continual improvement of services provided. Daily IQC shows no violation of the documented policy and procedure The technical personnel posted during this period shall be well trained and of proven competence to apply IQC rules The regular authorized personnel shall go through the records on the next working day and issues a final report after verifying that the results of these tests showed no trend and that the IQC was valid. The records of these shall be available till the next assessment Preparation of SOPs where necessary Ensure recording of equipment's preventive/breakdown maintenance details Observation of punctuality and discipline in the department In case of emergency/major problem, inform the patient/customer's doctor or give provisional report it needed Ensure delivery of report in time. Help in selection and evaluation of suppliers Analysis of non-conformities and initiation of corrective actions. Disposition of non-conforming results/reports Controls further processing until any conditions likely to cause non-conformities are rectified. Ensure proper housekeeping and administration in the department Ensure recording of equipment's preventive/breakdown maintenance details (if needed) Wastes Management Supervise the working of technical and non-technical personnel. Looking for abnormalities in samples that evidence disease and conveying this information to the relevant medical practitioner. Using checklists, medical software, and retesting to get thorough and precise results. Suggesting potential treatment options. Writing pathology reports detailing specimens tested, results of tests, and the final diagnosis. Undertaking research to improve identification and testing methods and finding innovative ways to treat disease. Staying up to date with developments in the fields of pathology and medical practice. Preferred candidate profile Your duties will include analyzing bodily fluids and tissue samples to study, diagnose, and treat disease. You will work in various medical settings and carry-out research and patient tests in order to assist fellow medical professionals in their diagnoses. MD/DNB Pathology/ DM Hematopathology required Bachelors degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field. 3 to 5 years internship and residency training, specializing in pathology. Should be holding a valid and active medical license registered in Delhi. Experience using lab testing equipment, such as microscopes and flow cytometers. Exceptional analytical and research skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Works well independently and has strong laboratory and research skills. Demonstrates strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills.
