To prepare accurate cost estimates and budgeting for projects in the events, exhibitions, and retail interior sectors. The role ensures profitability while maintaining competitive pricing, working closely with project, procurement, and design teams. Key Responsibilities: Analyse project briefs and technical drawings to estimate time, materials, labour, and overall costs. Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) based on drawings and client scope. Source and compare quotations from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Monitor cost variances and revise estimates accordingly. Coordinate with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure feasibility and budget alignment. Track project costing from proposal to execution to ensure profitability. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines. Maintain a database of materials, labour rates, and vendor pricing for reference and comparison. Collaborate with sales and project teams on tender submissions and budget proposals. Requirements : Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Architecture, or related field. 38 years of relevant experience in costing/estimation within the Events & Exhibitions or Retail Fit-Out industry. Strong understanding of materials, fabrication, and installation techniques specific to events, exhibitions, and interior fit-outs. Familiarity with joinery, acrylics, carpentry, lighting, metal and modular systems is essential. Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and costing software. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple estimates simultaneously. Strong vendor network is must.
