JOB PURPOSE – The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a particular section’s operations, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and production standards. The role involves supervising operators, managing production schedules, and maintaining compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS – The Position reports to the Section Head and supervises the Operators in the given area. JOB SPECIFICATIONS – The role requires a Diploma in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or Production Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience in furnace operations, metal processing, or coil handling industries. Leadership, troubleshooting, and quality control skills are necessary. JOB Description – Production Oversight: Supervise and direct the daily activities of the production floor engaged in copper tube manufacturing processes, including but not limited to casting, drawing, annealing, cutting, and finishing. Target Achievement: Ensure production targets for quantity, quality, and timelines are met efficiently and effectively. Monitor production schedules and make adjustments as necessary. Quality Control: Uphold stringent quality standards by monitoring in-process an_d_ final product quality. Implement and enforce quality control procedures and address any deviations promptly. Safety & Compliance: Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring all C_o_mpany safety policies, procedures, and industry regulations (e.g., OSHA) are strictly adhered to. Conduct regular safety checks and incident investigations as needed. Resource Management: Manage the allocation of manpower, equipment, and materials effectively to meet production demands. Coordinate with maintenance teams for equipment upkeep and repairs. Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, scrap rates, and employee performance. Prepare regular reports for management on production activities. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot production issues, equipment malfunctions, and quality concerns in a timely and effective manner. Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication between production staff, other departments (e.g., maintenance, quality assurance, logistics), and management.
