We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Content Refresh Editor to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate will be a skilled journalist with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of SEO best practices. This role is crucial to our content strategy, focusing on updating and optimizing our existing library of articles to ensure they remain relevant, accurate, and highly visible in search engine results.

You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, from fact-checking and data verification to restructuring articles for better readability and user experience. Your primary focus will be on breathing new life into our valuable content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Content Auditing and Analysis: Regularly audit the website's existing content to identify articles in need of a refresh based on performance metrics (traffic, engagement, ranking), topical relevance, and accuracy.

Content Editing and Updating:

• Thoroughly fact-check and update all data, statistics, and information to reflect the current market landscape.
• Rewrite and re-structure articles to improve clarity, flow, and logical progression.
• Enhance articles with new, relevant information, examples, and expert insights.
• Identify and correct any grammatical errors, typos, and formatting inconsistencies.

SEO Optimization:

• Conduct keyword research to identify new and relevant keywords to incorporate into updated articles.
• Optimize on-page elements, including headlines, subheadings, meta descriptions, and image alt text, for improved search engine ranking.
• Identify and build internal links to and from the refreshed content.
• Ensure content aligns with the latest SEO best practices and algorithm updates.
• Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of refreshed articles using tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console to track improvements in traffic and rankings.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the editorial team and subject matter experts to prioritize refresh projects and ensure content accuracy.
• Editorial Standards: Uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity, accuracy, and objectivity.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Digital Media, English, or a related field.
• About 2-3 years’ experience in a content editing, copyediting, or journalism role, preferably in a business, finance, or news-focused environment.
• Demonstrable experience with SEO best practices and a strong understanding of how to optimize content for search engines.
• Exceptional editing, fact-checking, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., WordPress) and SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs).
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• A passion for business and market news and a commitment to providing high-quality, accurate information.
