Computer Hardware & Networking Technician

As a Networking Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network hardware such as routers, switches, CCTV, access points, and cabling. You will be tasked with setting up both wired and wireless networks for various environments including offices, data centers, or client sites. Monitoring network performance and ensuring connectivity across all devices will be a key part of your role. You will diagnose and resolve hardware, software, or connectivity issues efficiently, while also conducting routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades to keep the network running smoothly. Providing technical support to end-users regarding network issues, documenting problems and solutions, and training users on proper connectivity and network usage practices will also be part of your responsibilities. You will need to ensure proper firewall, antivirus, and security protocols are in place, monitor for security breaches, and maintain compliance with company IT policies and data protection standards. In addition, you will be required to keep updated records of network configurations, layouts, and inventory, as well as prepare reports on network status, incidents, and improvement recommendations. Collaboration with IT teams, vendors, and service providers for upgrades or problem resolution, and assisting senior engineers in implementing new network technologies will also be expected.
