CMK Resources Resident Engineer – Kubernetes & Portworx (3 openings) Remote - India Help Shape the Future of Kubernetes Storage Our client's largest and most strategic customer is moving VMware-based workloads to KubeVirt on OpenShift. This is not a DevOps or automation-first role. This is about deep Linux/Kubernetes troubleshooting and hands-on operations. As a Resident Engineer , you’ll become a trusted technical advisor , embedding with the customer to deploy, manage, and support mission-critical storage environments on Kubernetes. What You’ll Do Deploy and manage Portworx Enterprise across Kubernetes environments (OpenShift, OpenStack, AKS, etc.). Lead troubleshooting efforts involving persistent volumes, storage integration, Linux systems, and cluster operations. Collaborate with Portworx architects and Pure Storage experts to deliver optimized, secure, and scalable storage solutions. Act as the primary technical contact for support escalations, RFEs, and performance issues. Improve operational visibility using observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor. Document procedures, runbooks, and issue resolution guides. Must-Have Skills 7+ years in infrastructure/IT, including strong Linux administration and troubleshooting. Hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters (on-prem or cloud). Deep understanding of persistent storage in Kubernetes (PVCs, volumes, storage classes). Any Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP) – particularly how Kubernetes interacts with cloud storage. Experience with OpenShift or similar Kubernetes distributions. Strong communication and documentation skills – you’ll be customer-facing. Nice-to-Haves Certifications: CKA , CKS , Portworx Certified . Experience with FlashArray, Azure Managed Disks, or blob storage. Background in finance, research, or enterprise-scale environments. CI/CD knowledge related to Kubernetes and storage automation.
