Cloud Software Engineering Specialist

The role of Cloud Software Engineering Specialist at BT Group involves ensuring that technical deliveries realize Business Value. You will be responsible for managing multiple complex small to medium-sized design deliveries or a single large technical design delivery. Your role will also involve coaching and mentoring a multi-discipline team, ensuring that the technical solution meets the business needs comprehensively. **Key Responsibilities:** - Implement the defined architectural roadmap for the Assurance Area covering Fault Management, Resource Management, Incident Management, and Change Management. - Define and implement the roadmap for the transformation of IT, DataCenter, and Network Cloud applications in Service and Problem management. - Design and develop applications in Core Java/J2EE/Spring/Angular with a preference for microservice-based architecture and cloud-ready applications. - Manage, engineer, architect, develop, and maintain applications in Network Management, OSS, and FCAPS space. - Lead engineering initiatives to ensure the network cloud platform is easily consumable by products and solutions, compliant with information security standards, and monitor consumption and compliance with security standards. - Implement and publish APIs for clients to consume platform services consistently. - Collaborate with product owners to prioritize features, implement features based on service line demand, industry trends, known defects, and issues. - Drive initiatives to identify the right set of cloud technologies, templatize, and automate those technologies for use at scale across products and applications. - Design and implement tools to monitor and administer Cloud-ready applications and underlying services for multiple clouds. - Implement DevSecOps processes and CI/CD pipelines. - Collaborate with solution design peers and operational teams to define implementation roadmaps for faster business outcomes. - Build internal, external, and third-party supplier relationships to ensure commitment and support in execution. - Manage expectations at different levels, including clients and internal stakeholders, with a focus on long-term relationships. - Deliver in Agile Methodologies and SRE, driving strong engineering practices in the team. - Debug complex issues and provide appropriate solutions. **Qualifications Required:** - Technical Expertise in Java (Open JDK11), J2EE, REST & SOAP WebServices, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Data, SQL/NoSQL Database, Kafka, WebLogic, FlyWay, Swagger, and K8s. - Stakeholder Management skills to establish a network of stakeholders and influence industry forums through technical expertise. - Change Management expertise in creating and sustaining successful large-scale and complex business changes. - Process design & documentation skills to describe, map, and document processes on a structured basis. **Additional Details:** BT Group, as the world's first telco, has an unrivaled heritage in the sector.
