Job Description

As an Infrastructure Software Engineer at Splunk, you will play a crucial role in managing one of the world's most sophisticated cloud-scale platforms. Your responsibilities include maintaining and provisioning the foundational infrastructure for Splunk Observability Cloud. This involves overseeing cloud compute platforms, managed services, Kubernetes, and necessary tooling. Your focus will be on creating a fully automated, self-serve, secure, performant, compliant, and cost-efficient Platform-as-a-Service that aligns with cloud-native best practices. Your passion for automation, infrastructure-as-code, and efficiency will drive you to eliminate manual tasks. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design new services, tools, and monitoring solutions for team-wide implementation - Analyze design tradeoffs and provide recommendations based on these assessments - Mentor new engineers to help them achieve their full potential and contribute to team success - Lead infrastructure projects including adopting new cloud-native frameworks, automating cloud infrastructure, developing automation tools, and enhancing platform resiliency **Qualifications:** **Must-Have:** - 5+ years of hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP - 3+ years of managing large-scale Kubernetes clusters in the public cloud - Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and/or Helm - Strong scripting skills in Python and/or bash - Knowledge of microservices fundamentals and related technologies - Exceptional problem-solving skills in large-scale distributed systems **Preferred:** - AWS Solutions Architect certification - Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, etc. - Proficiency in GoLang or Python for developing infrastructure or platform services - Familiarity with CI/CD frameworks and Pipeline-as-Code tools - Exposure to monitoring tools for building observability in microservice deployments - Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions for software design and deployment **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - Relevant practical experience,
