Know more about us: https://www.1mg.com/aboutUs Job Summary: We are looking for a highly experienced and scientifically driven professional to lead our Research & Development function with a focus on nutraceuticals and functional nutrition. The role involves leading formulation development, scientific vetting, regulatory alignment, and cross-functional innovation projects in the VMS (Vitamins, Minerals & Supplements) space. This senior position will serve as a key decision-maker for new product development, compliance oversight, and clinical substantiation. Key Responsibilities: Formulation Strategy & Innovation Leadership: - Lead end-to-end development of novel formulations for VMS and functional products aligned with brand vision and consumer needs. - Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define formulation roadmaps, ingredient differentiation, and product USPs. - Drive innovation through scientific validation, clinical data evaluation, and market/competitor benchmarking. - Engage with external R&D partners, academic institutions, and ingredient vendors to source breakthrough technologies and actives. Scientific & Clinical Vetting: - Work closely with the Medical Affairs team to evaluate published clinical studies and integrate them into product rationale. - Ensure formulation claims are supported by robust human studies, peer-reviewed research, and ingredient efficacy data. - Review, interpret, and document clinical data for internal approvals and external communication. - Lead development of technical white papers, product monographs, and clinical validation decks. Regulatory Oversight: - Ensure all R&D output complies with FSSAI Nutraceutical Regulations and other applicable guidelines. - Guide the regulatory affairs team in dossier preparation, formulation justifications, and scientific submissions. - Act as the final reviewer for technical data sheets, COAs, labels, and product documentation. - Monitor global regulatory trends (US FDA, EFSA, ASEAN, etc.) and ensure alignment in new launches. People & Project Management: - Lead a team of formulation scientists, regulatory specialists, and product development executives. - Drive R&D project timelines, budget adherence, and cross-departmental alignment. - Mentor and upskill team members in regulatory updates, scientific methodology, and product ideation. - Represent the R&D team in leadership reviews, audits, and innovation councils. Qualifications: - M.Pharm / M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Food Technology, or related Life Sciences field - 812 years of experience in R&D and Regulatory Affairs within the nutraceuticals/health supplements industry - Proven track record in developing science-led health and wellness products Why Join Us?
