Clinical Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. This position is essential for ensuring smooth operations within our clinical setting, particularly in outpatient dermatology and trauma care environments. A strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and patient interaction is vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in an outpatient setting.
• Administer medications as directed by physicians, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including medical history and treatment plans.
• Prepare examination rooms by cleaning and organizing equipment and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care, treatment options, and follow-up instructions.
• Support the clinical team during procedures by providing necessary instruments and assistance.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any significant changes to the supervising healthcare provider.
• Uphold strict confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Requirements

• Proficiency in medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the clinical environment.
• Experience or knowledge in medication administration practices is preferred.
• Familiarity with anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments and procedures.
• Previous experience in an outpatient setting, particularly within dermatology or trauma care, is a plus.
• Understanding of geriatrics to cater to the needs of older patients effectively.
• Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center or similar hospital environment is advantageous.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while providing compassionate patient care.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage with patients of diverse backgrounds effectively.
