1. Client Consultation & Project Planning Meet with clients to understand their needs, preferences, budget, and timeline. Assess how spaces will be used and determine functional requirements. Develop project concepts, design briefs, and proposals. Prepare cost estimates and project schedules. 2. Design Development Create design concepts, mood boards, and color palettes. Select materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and décor items. Develop floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings (using software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or 3ds Max). Ensure designs are aesthetically pleasing, functional, and aligned with the client’s vision. 3. Technical & Documentation Work Produce detailed drawings and specifications for contractors. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other professionals. Project Coordination & Execution Source and negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors. Supervise site work to ensure design integrity and quality control. Manage project budgets, schedules, and procurement processes. Handle any design modifications or problem-solving on-site. 5. Communication & Presentation Present design concepts and progress reports to clients. Maintain ongoing communication with clients and teams throughout the project. Provide professional advice on interior design trends, sustainability, and functionality.
