Business Development Facilitator
Job Overview Chhattisgarh Agricon Samiti (CAS) is seeking a results-driven Business Development Facilitator to strengthen the agribusiness and allied sectors in Chhattisgarh. This position demands a strategic thinker with grassroots experience, capable of leading comprehensive field surveys, enabling Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and exploring innovative economic opportunities—particularly in the evolving carbon credit ecosystem. The ideal candidate will combine analytical acumen with strong community engagement skills to design and implement sustainable business models in line with CAS’s mission of inclusive rural development. Location- Kabirdham, Chhattisgarh Remuneration- 5 to 6 lakh per annum Key Responsibilities 1. Sectoral Surveys & Field Assessments Design and execute detailed field surveys to evaluate opportunities in agriculture, Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFPs), Minor Forest Products (MFPs), and carbon-sequestering practices. Identify high-potential clusters for intervention and enterprise development. 2. Market Research & Demand-Supply Analysis Conduct demand-supply gap assessments to inform strategy development. Identify viable products, market trends, and potential value chain enhancements. 3. Community Engagement & Capacity Building Mobilize and engage with farmer groups, youth, and local institutions. Facilitate training sessions on sustainable agribusiness practices and carbon credit literacy. 4. Business Plan Development Prepare comprehensive and context-specific business plans for FPOs and other rural enterprises. Integrate sustainability, market linkage, and revenue-generation components into planning. 5. Carbon Credit Project Facilitation Design and oversee climate-smart agricultural initiatives focused on carbon offsetting. Assist in measuring, documenting, and linking generated carbon credits with verified carbon markets. 6. FPO Formation & Strengthening Support the formation and legal registration of new FPOs. Enhance FPO governance, compliance, financial planning, and enterprise development capacities. 7. Market Linkages & Buyer Engagement Facilitate direct producer-market connections across local, regional, and institutional buyers. Advocate for fair trade and ethical sourcing mechanisms. 8. Reporting & Documentation Maintain high-quality documentation of field activities, assessments, workshops, and outcomes. Submit periodic, data-driven reports to the central management team. 9. Team Leadership & Coordination Supervise a small team working across two blocks. Provide planning, mentorship, and performance monitoring support.
