Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Operations Head to lead the strategic and operational execution of our waste processing, and recycling business. The ideal candidate will bring a rich blend of experience in waste management, end-to-end plant operations, supply chain leadership, business development, facility setup (MRF &EPR), liaising with government and innovation in waste processing. This role is integral to scaling up our waste management infrastructure, optimizing plant efficiencies, building commercial partnerships, and ensuring full compliance across EPR frameworks. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership capabilities to manage multi-location processing plants, coordinate with cement and co-processing units, drive supply chain innovation, and lead cross-functional teams across projects. A proven track record in material recovery, vendor development, and liaising with municipal/government agencies is essential. Key Responsibilities: · Lead the end-to-end setup and commissioning of Material Recovery Facilities, including layout planning, equipment selection, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. · Oversee daily operations of the processing plant, ensuring efficiency in the processing operations and maintaining profitable balance sheets · Own the entire supply chain lifecycle—from inbound waste sourcing to outbound movement of recyclables, RDF/SRF, and co-processing material to cement and industrial partners. · Collaborate with logistics partners and internal teams to ensure cost-effective, timely, and compliant transportation of materials. · Monitor key performance indicators such as plant throughput, recovery rates, operational efficiency, and downtime to ensure continuous improvement. · Maintain and manage vendor relationships for plant machinery, spare parts, and other operational requirements. · Ensure compliance with EPR guidelines by aligning processing operations with producer obligations and supporting accurate documentation and reporting. · Engage with external partners such as PROs, recyclers, and government bodies to support integrated waste management strategies. · Spearhead the business development strategy for selling recycled outputs (plastics, RDF, SRF, compost, metals) to cement plants, recyclers, and industrial buyers. · Establish long-term partnerships with cement kilns and co-processing facilities for offtake agreements and waste-to-energy initiatives. Identify new revenue opportunities across waste valorization streams and expand market footprint. · Lead and develop plant teams by providing training, mentorship, and performance management, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence. Required Qualifications: · Master’s Degree in Waste Management, Environmental Science, MBA or related fields · 7–10 years of experience in waste management and recycling. Proven experience in independently handling waste management projects, bio mining, waste collection, and MRF. Proven track record of leading plant operations and supply chain functions. Experience in selling recycled materials and working with cement/co-processing industries. Extensive experience in liaising with government bodies and municipal corporations.
