The role involves supervising drivers, coordinating schedules, and ensuring that all vehicles are roadworthy and properly maintained. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate daily operations of heavy vehicle fleets (e.g., trucks, trailers, tankers, dumpers). Allocate and monitor driver assignments, ensuring adherence to schedules and routes. Oversee vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, and repair work to ensure minimal downtime. Ensure compliance with transport laws, safety regulations, and internal policies. Maintain records of vehicle use, servicing, repairs, fuel consumption, and driver performance. Liaise with mechanics, workshops, and third-party vendors for maintenance and service contracts. Conduct regular safety briefings and training sessions for drivers and other transport staff. Monitor GPS and tracking systems to evaluate route efficiency and address violations. Investigate incidents or accidents involving company vehicles and submit required reports. Support budgeting and cost control efforts related to fleet operations. Qualifications and Skills: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field (preferred). Proven experience (5+ years) in heavy vehicle operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures. Familiarity with local transport laws, traffic regulations, and HSE standards. Good leadership, communication, and team management skills.
