What You'll Be Building You'll be one of the lead developers on our Biochar dMRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) platform – think of it as creating a complete supply chain tracking system for carbon removal projects. From the moment biomass is collected to when biochar gets applied to soil, every step needs to be tracked, verified, and auditable by third parties. This isn't your typical CRUD app. You'll be working with: GPS tracking and mapping for feedstock sourcing and application sites Real-time IoT data from pyrolysis equipment Laboratory integrations for quality testing Chain of custody systems with immutable records Complex carbon accounting calculations Third-party verification workflows Tech Stack Python - FastAPI backend, data processing, integrations JavaScript/React - Frontend dashboard and mobile-friendly interfaces FastAPI - API development and real-time data handling PostgreSQL - Complex relational data with geospatial extensions Azure/AWS Cloud Services What Makes This Different Vibe coding is totally fine – we care more about shipping working solutions than perfect architecture on day one AI coding tools are a must – we expect you to be productive with Claude code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, etc. If you're not using AI to code faster, you're behind Real impact – the code you write directly enables carbon removal projects to get verified and funded Small team – your work matters immediately, no bureaucracy or endless meetings Before You Apply - Answer These: 1. Technical Screening: Have you built a full-stack application with user authentication and database integration? (Share GitHub link) Rate your comfort level with Python backend development (1-10) and give a specific example What's your experience with React? Any projects where you handled forms, state management, or API integration? 2. AI Tools & Approach: Which AI coding tools do you currently use and for what? How do you typically approach building a new feature you've never built before? 3. Climate/Impact: Why does working on climate tech matter to you personally? Have you worked on any projects (personal/school/work) related to environmental data, mapping, or supply chain tracking? What You'll Learn Carbon Markets Industry - carbon markets, MRV systems, verification protocols Enterprise software - building systems that handle real money and regulatory compliance Full-stack development - from PostgreSQL optimization to React UX design Product thinking - balancing user needs with technical constraints in a regulated industry Details Duration : 3-6 months (with potential to convert to full-time) Remote-friendly but preference for someone who can occasionally meet in person (Bengaluru Area) Red Flags (Don't Apply If...)
